Big Tech 💇♂️: "Alexa, give me bangs"
Some good news for everyone looking to get a post-pandemic chop: Amazon enters the hair salon business.
Amazon to open first-ever hair salon in London.. says this guy👇🏻
Key Highlights:
💡It will be across two-storeys in London's East End Spitalfields area
💡It will be "huge" with 1,500 square feet of space
💡Customers can virtually test hair colors using Augmented Reality
💡Amazon Salon will have "point-and-learn" technology; customers can point at products on the shelves and add them to their virtual shopping carts
PS. Exclusive cut for all Prime members
“We want this unique venue to bring us one step closer to customers [..] and test new technologies.”
Ok, so will we see ads pop up in the mirror while we get a blowout?
Damn, that's a whole new flex of collecting data on Brits 🇬🇧
Our Thoughts💡: Let us be clear- ANYONE who ditches their hairdresser is a traitor.
End of discussion.
Food 🥪 : Pret a Manger moves to the suburbs as more employees work from home.
The CEO stated he's dropped Pret's "follow the skyscraper" expansion-plan focused on central locations.
Instead, the coffee-chain is driving growth from a robust loyalty program, online deliveries via Deliveroo, Just Eat & Uber Eats and packaged products in supermarkets, Bloomberg reports.
"If you have a Pret when you're at work, great, but there's a big opportunity for us to have more Prets where people are living as well."
"The city will be very different to before Covid [..] Flexible working is here to stay."
-CEO Pano Christou
Pret permanently shut 30 shops in the UK last summer.
In addition, 'Eat' (also owned by Pret) announced it's shutting down last year permanently after 24 years in business.
Anyone craving EAT's delicious morning bagels can take the train to Gare du Nord, Paris where the cafe continues to operate.. for now 🥯
Culture 🧙♀️: Attention all Muggles! A bit of magic is coming to Manhattan this summer.
Harry Potter New York, the World's only HP Flagship store, is officially opening in the city, June 3rd.
Ok, we know what we're doing this summer. Gryffindor gear for dayzzzz
PS. Gatwick North Terminal? Definitely not the only flagship!
Key Highlights:
💡The location is 935 Broadway in the Flatiron area.
💡It spans across 3 floors with 15-themed areas
💡The store is 21,000 square feet
💡Scannable QR codes at the store to join a virtual queue and be notified when you can enter
In addition, two Virtual Reality Tours will be available: 'Chaos at Hogwarts' that will take you around Hogwarts and 'Wizards Take Flight' that will put you on a broomstick where you can fly over the River Thames in London.
There will also be an Interactive Wand Table where youcan take your wand for a test run (Wingardium Leviosa!)
"We're bringing authentic props that come directly from the films [..] from the original Golden Snitch, Harry's broomstick, Tom Riddle's diary with a basilisk's fang in the middle of it, and many other items."
-Warner Bros Studios
Plus, stock up on Chocolate Frogs inspired by Honeydukes, Hogsmeade's special Butter Beer and all kinds of Harry Potter merch! 🍫
Cannabis 🍁 : Last Tuesday on April 20, also known as "420, The Cannabis High Holiday", President Biden said he supports states' to legalize recreational marijuana.
Yep, the American dream is still alive people!
Personally, we think its' time to just legalize it federally. Just tax Weed like Wine or Tequila? People tell us it has medicinal qualities.. So why not?
PS. Did you know?👇🏻
“The War on Drugs has too often been a war on people, particularly people of color, it makes no sense-it’s time for change."
“Hopefully, the next time this unofficial holiday 420 rolls around, our country will have made progress"
Our thoughts💡: Our colleagues and I are looking for a new office space starting July. We have an adorable Bulldog, a Nespresso machine and a deep love for some Mary Jane ;)
Any offers?

SpaceX 🏰 : Now arriving at the Disneyland Station! All aboooaard 🚀
Kids at Disneyland were treated to a rather different nighttime show last Friday as a SpaceX Rocket soared above them.
The Falcon 9 Rocket, which launched from NASA's Kennedy Space Center in Florida, dazzled above Walt Disney World, creating a magical moment for those who were able to see it.
Leave it to Musk to give you a better show than Mickey🐭 !
Disney photographers David Roark and Kent Phillips captured these stunning images of the rocket, soaring above Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge at Disney’s Hollywood Studios and Tomorrowland at Magic Kingdom Park.
Our Thoughts💡: What's next? Musk to bring in a Boring Company tunnel as part of a Tesla-themed ride? 🙌🏻
