More so, it's appetite for global domination has only increased this year. While your local cafe weathers the ongoing storm of the pandemic, Coffee chains like Starbucks gain momentum.
According to Bloomberg, a great number of coffee shops in the US & Canada have shut down as revenue plunges and the virus forces owners to reevaluate their business.
This gives household names like Starbucks, Dunkin’ Donuts and The Coffee Bean the opportunity to gain market share at the expense of independent cafes' struggling to survive.
Believe it or not, there’s plenty of turf the Pumpkin Spice Chai Latte has yet to claim. Vast swaths of cities are still untouched by the iconic Starbucks Green-Siren logo.
