Bath Bombs 🛁
This Week in Review ☕️ : Twitter CEO quits Twitter | Netflix partners with Spotify in new collaboration | Ferrari unveils new Supercar in Italy | Lush Cosmetics becomes anti-social to protect users |
Quick Bites:
Tech 📲 : Twitter co-founder and CEO Jack Dorsey steps down from his role.
Even the founder of Twitter has quit Twitter..
On another note, Dorsey can now resume his role as Tyrion Lannister in the new Game of Thrones prequel lmao👇🏻
Dorsey announced in an email that CTO Parag Agarwal will replace him as CEO "effective immediately."
"There aren't many companies that get to this level. And there aren't many founders that choose their company over their own ego"
-Dorsey
PS. His resignation email is way over 280 characters
Meanwhile, Parag Agarwal joins the list of Indian-born CEOs running the top tech behemoths in the world! #WhoRunTheWorld ?! 🇮🇳 👇🏻
💡Twitter: Parag Agarwal
💡Microsoft: Satya Nadella
💡Google: Sundar Pichai
💡IBM: Arvind Krishna
💡Adobe: Shantanu Narayen
💡VMWare: Raghu Raghuram
Our Thoughts💡: We just have one teensy request. Can Dorsey install an 'EDIT' button on tweets as a farewell present to the company?
Entertainment 📺 : Netflix partners with Spotify as the two get together to launch an all-new "Netflix Hub" on the music-streaming app.
The hub will offer soundtracks and playlists from fan favorites including "Stranger Things", "Bridgerton" and "Squid Game".
It will also feature podcasts such as "The Crown: The Official Podcast".
Our Thoughts💡: Seems like a last-ditch effort to keep fans invested in online content as vaccination rates increase and people finally turn off their screens.
What Reed Hastings and Daniel Ek don't know: We don't need a "hub" to continue using Netflix. Or Spotify.
When it comes to great entertainment, portion control is for suckers.
By simply searching “Netflix” on Spotify, the music app's +300mn global subscribers worldwide can find songs from their favorite TV shows- all in one place.
No more randomly searching for La Casa de Papel!🙏
Current Mood💡:Toasted marshmallows, Netflix Hub and cozy cuddles from bae 😍
Supercars 🏎 : Ferrari unveils new supercar; calling it the "most aerodynamically efficient car ever", Bloomberg Pursuits reports.
That’s right, the original Icona-series from the 60s is back and it'll cost a cool $2.3mn!
Hmm.. seems a bit excessive, sticking with our Subaru 🙏
'The Daytona SP3' was debuted at a F1 track near Florence this past weekend and is a tribute to the brand’s glorious past.
It represents the 2nd leg of the Icona series, the first being the Monza SP1 and SP2 cars introduced 3 years ago, Bloomberg.
Key Highlights:
💡Mid-rear mounted with 829 horsepower
💡V12 engine-Ferrari's most powerful engine, enabling the var to go from 0-100km/hr in 2.85 seconds
💡599 models will be made
💡Deliveries to start end of 2022
Morgan Stanley’s Adam Jonas raised his Ferrari price target this week to $350, the highest among analyst estimates compiled by Bloomberg.
“We see EVs as a ‘force vector’ for expanding the addressable market in a profitable way while maintaining scarcity of the Ferrari brand,”
The Italian manufacturer will also start sales of its first-ever SUV, the Purosangue, next year.
Our Thoughts💡: Ok, so we did the math:
If we have 109 kids, then we can receive enough stimulus money to buy the new Ferrari, no questions asked.
*Currently Manifesting an orange Daytona to go with our glazed Dunkin' Donuts*
Beauty💄: British cosmetics retailer 'Lush' is going off social media.
Lush is deleting its accounts on Facebook, Instagram, Snapchat and TikTok until tech companies offer users "a safer environment".
"We do not want to pay to appear in your newsfeed."- Lush
"As an inventor of bath bombs, I pour all my efforts into creating products that help people switch off. Social media platforms have become the antithesis of this aim, with algorithms designed to keep people scrolling and stop them from switching off and relaxing."
Jack Constantine, Inventor and Chief Digital Officer
Our Thoughts💡: Great news for customers, as its not just about what we put into our bodies, but also what we put into our minds.
Prob not so great for Lush investors who stand to lose millions in sales given Christmas is less than a month away!🙈
