Quick Bites:
Culture 🌍 : Gen Z is stressing about their fertility, Women's Health reports.
From freezing eggs to testing ovarian reserves, Gen Z is relatively more concerned than previous generations even if they're not planning a family right away.
May the embryos ever be in your favor ladies 🪺
💡Gynaecologist: All you have to do is relax and you will get pregnant
💡Us: Wait a minute, let me write down this stellar advice. Please pass me that pen that has been accidentally jammed into your eye
We hate it when our mom friends tell us we should be glad we don't have to go through 9 months of pregnancy symptoms.. Because a lifetime of obesity, facial hair, hot flashes, eczema and acne are so much better right ???! 🤬🤬🤬
PS. All our friends having their 2nd and 3rd baby.. and we're over here like "Hey, we're 30 and single" 🤷🏻♀️🤷🏻♀️
Key Highlights, reported by Women's Health:
💡Nearly half of young people aged 16-24 have “fertility anxiety”
💡Fertility specialists have witnessed a great rise in Gen Z patients coming into their offices
💡Many of these patients are fertility testing or full-on egg freezing to secure their future
💡Some employers have also started offering health insurance coverage for egg freezing
💡In addition, infertility has become less stigmatized, mainly due to the abundance of information available online today
💡Conversations about the subject have become less taboo too. This is also because of high-profile celebrities like the Kardashians, who have been extremely vocal about their own challenges on social media
Our Thoughts💡: Oh, our infertility posts make you uncomfortable? Let me just get back to those nonstop pictures of your babies on Facebook 🖕🏻🖕🏻
Health 🐓: Bird flu fears drive up egg prices.
A recent resurgence of influenza in poultry farms across the US, Japan and other countries have caused prices of eggs to jump again, CNBC reports.
Eggs are getting very expensive bc of the bird flu. PLEASE KEEP YOUR PECKER COVERED 🙏🏻
The virus is known to be extremely contagious, and has also been detected in cows.
Last week, the FDA said that samples of pasteurised milk had tested positive for bird flu via infected dairy cows.
Reminding the family to fully cook our eggs before eating, and our husband has the balls to tell us that the bird flu circulating is just a dairy cow thing?
WHERE DO U THINK IT ORIGINATED?!! 🤔🤔
Key Highlights, reported by CNBC:
💡In the last 30 days, more than 8 million birds in the US remain infected
💡In Japan, hundreds of thousands of hens have been infected in domestic poultry farms
💡Japan is the 2nd largest of consumer of eggs per capita in the world, given its an important ingredient in Japanese cooking
💡The country saw prices of medium-sized eggs rise by 20% within this year itself
“Many regions worldwide like the US, EU, Russia, South Africa, India, and Nigeria face historically high price levels”
Bird flu is not the only thing impacting egg supply. Other factors include hot weather and higher meat prices, which are pushing people to look for alternative proteins.
Our Thoughts💡: Guess, karma bites you when you take what isn't yours.. 🤷🏻♀️
Also, if we get the flu, can we eat chicken soup or will that just make it worse.. ? 🤯
Mental Health 🧠 : Have you been feeling burned out at work? You're not alone.
Roughly 8 out of 10 employees are at risk of burning out this year, according to a 2024 Global Talent Trends report.
💡Boss: If there's anything you need, just let me know
💡Us: Living wages, acceptance and some training?
💡Boss: We don't do that here
According to Psychology Today, burnout is more than just hating your job.
It's a combination of "emotional exhaustion, depersonalisation, and reduced feelings of personal accomplishment".
But instead of letting those negative emotions control you, take control of your mental health before April (also known as 'National Stress Awareness Month') ends.
Here are some tips to help you, from the University of Pennsylvania’s Kandi Wiens, author of "Burnout Immunity":
💡Change your mindset from “fight-or-flight”
💡Treat high-stress situations as challenges to be overcome, which “can boost your resilience in the face of stress”
💡Self-awareness is key, so identify what makes you vulnerable to burnout
💡Try to resist “catastrophic thinking.” If you find yourself gravitating to it, challenge that negative thought
💡Reconnect to things that bring you joy, and reimagine a new way forward
Our Thoughts💡:
This is for our ladies.. Have y'all ever noticed 'Mental Stress', Menstruation' 'Menopause' all start with MEN....... ?!
JUST SAYIN 🙄

PICKLEBALL
America's fastest growing sport is now coming to another country: India 🇮🇳
The United Pickleball Association and Global Sports announced a deal on Thursday to bring the Major League Pickleball and the PPA tour to India, CNBC reports.
The United Pickleball Association has also said it plans to hold an open process to sell MLP franchises in the country, with the goal of launching a full 12-team season in 2025-26.
The racket sport, which is played in a tennis-like fashion on a badminton court with paddles and a plastic whiffle ball, is looking to continue its growth in the world's most populous country.
By 2030, pickleball is projected to attract an estimated 40 million players globally.
Our Thoughts💡: This "sport" has apparently been around since 1965 and was first played in Washington.... Yet not a single person has ever mentioned it until last October. And now, noone can stfu about it.. 😭
When you're out in public and someone mentions pickleball 👇🏻
Food & Drink 🥤: Like it or not, you probably have a friend who's obsessed with bubble tea.
Bubble Tea has today become a worldwide phenomenon, led by its exponential growth in China.
That growing passion for the drink has created at least a half-dozen billionaires in the country over the past few years, Bloomberg Business reports.
Forget diamonds, the real path to riches is paved with tapioca pearls 🧋
The drink, which originated from Taiwan in the late 80s, has surged in popularity around the world.
Tapioca pearls- the soft, chewy balls the drink is known for, are now America's top food import from Taiwan.
Analysts estimate the bubble tea market will hit over $2 billion in 10 years, Bloomberg.
Y'all so late. We been sipping chai bobas since 2010
Key Highlights:
💡This trend has primarily been fueled by TikTok and Korean entertainment
💡The segment for black tea is expected to have the biggest share of the market, followed by green tea
💡Gen Z is driving the demand for Bubble Tea Milk, as evidenced by South Asia spending $3.7 billion on launching ‘milk tea’ and similar drinks in 2021
💡In 2022, the US imported some $30 million kilograms of tapioca from Taiwan, per Bloomberg
Like Starbucks, bubble tea comes in a range of flavors and combinations.
You can pair your favorite milk tea with fresh fruit (mulberry, grapefruit, strawberry, orange), various bubbles (the original dark tapioca balls, crystal, cactus, taro and more), special additions (red beans, chunks of flavored gelatin, a topping of cream cheese foam) and various levels of sweetness and iciness, according to Bloomberg Business.
