Quick Bites :
Food 🍫 : "I got 99 problems and a Flake is one!"
The UK hit by a Cadbury 99 Flakes shortage, BBC reports.
The surge in demand for a Flake 99 soft-serve means Cadbury is running low on the nation's favorite summer treat.
Hardly seems worth coming out of lockdown now tbh..
This really is the last straw.. only the crumbliest, crunchiest chocolate of all time Our prayers with the Brits at this time.
Meanwhile, Mars execs seeing the Cadbury Flake shortages, with their stockpile of Galaxy Ripples ready 👇🏻
"We are seeing a recent increase in demand for our Cadbury 99 Flake in the UK and Ireland that we had not expected," Cadbury owner Mondelez said.
The ice-cream toppers were being sold via traveling mini-vans at newsagents and petrol stations.
This is what happens when production is moved to Egypt. Not still stuck in the damn Suez Canal are they ?!
Well, can we consider alternatives? Any worthy contenders to substitute the flake? KitKat Crunchy, anyone?
Our Thoughts💡: Hmm.. we're suspicious this has more to do with supply issues than the rise in demand.
The story seems a bit "flakey" right? Seems more like an advertising campaign for Cadbury, which crops up right about now every year, just in time for summer.
Culture 💎 : "He said Yes!"
Diamonds are no longer just a girl's best friend; Tiffany & Co. announces the debut of its 1st ever men's engagement ring.
The new line has been named after the company’s founder, Charles Lewis Tiffany as the company explores a new market for jewelry amid a rise in same-sex marriages globally.
The design of the men’s ring is also a departure the traditional wedding band as it features a striking center diamond, Tiffany said.
It was 1886 when Tiffany introduced its 1st solitaire engagement ring for women. And it's finally here for men in 2021..
Only took 135 years but hey, better late than never!
The US jeweler hopes this new line "in support of love and inclusivity" will lead to higher growth.
The company did over $4bn in jewelry sales last year, with women’s engagement rings accounting for 26% of total revenue, CNBC reports.
Our Thoughts💡: Tiffany hasn't really ventured beyond it's classic 'Pantone Blue' branding for years now. Needs to be spruced up beyond it's name value, especially at a time when gender-flexible fashion has become key for consumers.
Say what you want but LVMH's Bernard Arnault knows a thing or two on revamping a Fashion House. Case in point- Bvlgari.
In Tiffany's case- Men take center stage 🙌🏻
Speaking of LVMH 📈 : Bernard Arnault became the World's Richest Man yesterday as LVMH stock climbed.
The French Fashion Tycoon overtook Jeff Bezos after this net worth climbed to $186bn- an increase of $110bn in just 14 months!
Arnault has built his multi-billion dollar empire through his aggressive business tactics and take-no-prisoners approach.
He surpassed the Amazon founder by $300mn- although not for long. According to Forbes, Bezos reclaimed the throne shortly after, as Amazon's shares surged as soon as markets opened in New York.
Speaking of Amazon 🚀 : Unsure where to go this summer? How about a trip to space?
Founder Jeff Bezos's Blue Origin is about to launch it's 1st astronaut team into the atmosphere and is selling one seat on the inaugural trip.
The bidding is currently at $2.8mn, and will up for grabs in a live auction until June 12.
Our bid only came $2,799,999 short. Should we launch a kickstarter?
Key Highlights:
💡According to Blue Origin, there have been more 5,200 bidders from 136 countries so far
💡The capsule is the company's New Shepard reusable rocket
💡It can fly up to 6 passengers to just above 100km, until the edge of space (also known as the Karman Line)
💡Passengers are required to be over 18 years old
💡Passengers have to weigh between 110 and 223 lbs
💡The entire trip will last 11 minutes
💡"This seat will change how you see the world"
💡At the highest point of the capsule’s trajectory, passengers can unbuckle and float around in zero gravity for about 3 minutes
Our Thoughts💡: Waiting for the headline:
"Elon tops bidding at 10 million dollars. Leaves 1-star review ⭐️"
Aliens 👽 : The Pentagon strongly suspects aliens exist and they are expected to deliver a detailed report on the matter to Congress in June.
Well, we can already tell you aliens exist. We've been watching King James play ball since 2005
In the upcoming bill, there will be a "detailed analysis of unidentified aerial phenomena data and intelligence", due to several leaked photos from the US Navy of mysterious flying objects, NBC reports.
“I want us to take it seriously"
-Senator Marc Rubio
“What threat, if any, is posed by the unidentified vehicles that are brazenly and repeatedly violating restricted U.S. airspace over hovering around our warships."
While UFOs have been a part of mythology for centuries, they've now jumped from bedtime stories to the American Department of Defense.
Our Thoughts💡: Don't look the price of bread just tripled but hey, watch out for the UFOs!
Aliens are real. Get in losers. We're going galaxy hopping. 🛸
Environment 🌏 : World’s Largest Iceberg- the size of Majorca- forms in Antarctica.
A massive block of ice has drifted from the frozen edge of Antarctica into the Weddell Sea, thereby becoming the largest iceberg in the world.
According to the European Space Agency:
💡The Iceberg has been dubbed "A-76"
💡It is approximately 170km long and 25km wide
💡It surpasses the "A-23A" iceberg as the largest iceberg, also located in the Weddell Sea
💡The images were captured by the Copernicus Sentinel-1 satellite
💡With the Antarctic ice sheet warming faster than usual, ice covers are melting to create more icebergs
