Global Cheese Expansion 🧀
This Week in Review ☕️ : JayZ invests in vegan cheese brand | Fashions Biggest Night Out-The Met Gala Highlights | Plant Power leads the way | NFT Yacht Club breaks record at Sothebys | Princess Diana
Quick Bites ☕️ :
Food 🧀 : Lab-grown Mozzarella gets new funds for Global Cheese expansion, Bloomberg reports.
Dear God..
A startup that makes cultured mozzarella and ricotta cheeses without dairy has just got record funding from investors.
Berlin-based startup 'Formo' just raised $50mn in a Series A round to expand its range of dairy cheeses made without cows.
People are investing in a new generation of companies that don't want to compromise on the taste of eating cheese- but without the climate-warming impact.
This comes right after Jay-Z helped vegan cheese brand 'Misha's Kind Foods' raise $3mn.
In addition, the founder of the World's biggest plant-based meat company called for a tax on meat consumption.
Ethan Brown, CEO of multi-billion dollar "Beyond Meat" says a meat tax could help give vegan products an edge at the supermarket checkout as vegan products such as burger patties and sausages are pricier than meat.
Our Thoughts💡: Ok, so we can't drink, smoke, get high or eat Brie now?!
Lets just suck all the joy outta life and wait for the theta variant to take us all out tf
Also, is consuming dairy really a "sin"?! What's with the judgement?
Personally, we dig a classic grilled cheese with buttered Texas toast, mild provolone and cheddar. A goey, melty ball of cheesy goodness..
Art 🖼 : Sotheby's sells a lot of 'Bored Ape' NFTS for $24mn, setting a record for an NFT auction at the house.
To put that in context, a Vincent van Gogh brought in "only" $16mn last October.
💡Average price per ape: $240,000
💡Two months ago, the average price per ape on OpenSea was $3,600
According to ARTNews, the sale only had two lots on offer:
1. A bundle of 101 Bored Ape Yacht Club NFTs (shown above). With 10,000 unique apes, each has traits of varying rarity. The apes have blown up in popularity since they were released in April. This lot sold for $24.4mn.
2. Bored Ape #3749 (shown below). The ape is wearing a sailor’s cap, gold fur, and lasers coming from its eyes. This one sold for $2.6mn on NFT marketplace OpenSea.
Our Thoughts💡: In other word, the über wealthy have now found a new way to stash, embezzle and transfer their money lmao
💡A bunch of apes sold for $26mn
💡A digital artwork by Beeple sold for $69mn
💡A 10-second video clip artwork sold for $6.6mn
💡A clip of a LeBron James' slam dunk sold for $200,000
Welcome to 2021. The Future is Non-Fungible 🚀
Fashion 👠 : Celebrities walked the red carpet at the Metropolitan Museum of Art last night aka "Fashion's biggest night out".

Entertainment 🍿: One of the most highly-awaited movies was featured at the Venice Film Festival this year- Pablo Larrain's Spencer starring Kristen Stewart as Princess Diana.
Two great movies about Kristen Stewart going into a deadly, blood-sucking family lmao👇🏻
Stewart blew critics away with her performance, enough so that we might see her at the Oscars.
In an exclusive interview with the Los Angeles Times, Stewart dishes on what it was like playing the Princess of Wales.
"I will say now this genuinely did kind of take off whatever leash I had on my energy."
"Diana just has this feral cat feel. So I wanted to convey that. There’s no way to plan chaos. You just have to fall into it.”
"I felt some spooky, spiritual feelings making this movie. Even if I was just fantasizing. I felt like there were moments where I kind of got the sign-off. It’s scary to tell a story about someone who’s not alive anymore and who already felt so invaded."
