Lamborghini Lemonade 🍋
This Week in Review ☕️ : Michelin Star Cheeseburgers | Top Food Trends of 2021 | Feel good spending | Starbucks Mania | New Coke | The Most Livable Cities in the World | The Streaming Wars escalate
Quick Bites:
Luxury 🏎 : Lamborghini says it's almost sold out for 2021, Bloomberg reports.
The Italian brand has run out of 10 months worth of its annual production capacity as deliveries surged to almost a record 25% during Q1.
And yes, that means ALL 19 of the 2021 Sián Roadsters have been spoken for, meaning it is officially sold out at $3,297,632 a piece!
As Covid restrictions ease, the über-wealthy are splurging on ritzy, big-ticket items to feel good after months of lockdown.
While the rich have gotten even richer in the pandemic, the barely rich have also risen as a whole new class of crypto millionaires have come to play
$BTC & $Doge to the moon indeed 🚀
Ok, so we did the math:
If we have 107 kids, then we can receive enough stimulus money to buy the Lamborghini Murcielago, no questions asked.
Our Thoughts💡: Summer 2021:
Dudes in South Beach be getting a 3 day Lambo rental and expect you to lose your heart & morals for them lmao
Us: Currently manifesting an orange Aventador to go with our glazed Dunkin' Donuts
Entertainment 📺 : Netflix enters the e-commerce game by launching its 1st online store.
The store will sell exclusive show-inspired merch from hit TV shows like "The Witcher" to the French thriller "Lupin".
You can expect "carefully-selected, high quality" products from hoodies to jewelry as the streaming giant aims to capitalize on the blockbuster success of its original series'.
In 2019, Netflix executed a cross-marketing promotion with Coca-Cola to integrate the 'New Coke' in the 3rd season of its massively popular "Stranger Things".
The sci-fi hit series showed scenes of characters enjoying New Coke, leading to 500,000 12-ounce cans being made available for purchase online and in some US cities.
Netflix's Brand Marketing Partnerships have only continued:
💡Sweatshirt collection with apparel brand Phenomenal
💡A partnership with the British Fashion Council to create gowns inspired by Bridgerton
💡Make-up collection at Sephora with Korean skincare brand Laneige for teenage drama To All the Boys I've Loved Before
💡Ride-sharing app Lyft for Stranger Things Season 2
💡Baskin-Robbins for Stranger Things Season 3
This comes after Queen's Gambit led to a 127% increase in chess set sales 1 month after the show dropped on Netflix.
Some say, the push into e-commerce is to take on Disney which is propped up by additional revenue from its merchandising and theme parks
Our Thoughts💡: Seems like a last-ditch effort to keep fans invested in TV shows as vaccination rates increase and people finally turn off their screens.
What Reed Hastings doesn't know: We don't need merch to continue streaming.
When it comes to great TV, portion control is for suckers
Starbucks ☕️ : Ugh, today is just kicking our a**. We just pulled up to Starbucks and there's a worldwide shortage of our favorite Mango Dragonfruit refreshers!!
Safe to say there's a whole lotta angry Jennifers' right now! Goodbye Hot Girl Summer 👋
Like it or not, Starbucks is urban America. The Seattle-based giant has ingrained itself in our daily lives one frothy macchiato at a time.
So, when Starbucks runs out of 'various items', it's nothing less than a national emergency.
Easing Covid-19 restrictions means baristas are back to the grind as stores get flush with demanding customers.
According to Business Insider, the coffee-chain put orders for ingredients such as oat milk, hazelnut syrup and chai tea bags on a "temporary hold" due to supply chain issues.
Moreover, some baristas reported a shortage of cake pops and cup stoppers in some stores, WSJ.
This is because of all those nut jobs that place orders like this👇🏻.. ahemm 🙄
Our Thoughts💡: Not to be dramatic but this nationwide Starbucks shortage is really crushing the morale of me and my colleagues out here
Meanwhile, Dunkin execs right now 👇🏻
Food 🍔 : Yearly trends can be tricky to predict but after an exhausting 2020, people have turned to quality food in 2021- like Burgers, but ones that cost an arm & a leg!
From your Vegan Black Bean burger to a Braised Short Rib patty stuffed with Foie Gras, Michelin-starred burgers are the hottest food item this year.
The World's Top Chefs approach a classic as nothing beats a good old dirty' burger
Key Highlights:
💡One michelin-star "Mana" restaurant in Manchester announced it was offering a new takeout offering.
Limited to 100 a day & available for pre-order only, Mana's cheeseburger is a bargain at £16 a piece.
What to expect: Lake District's finest beef patty smothered in beer and St Andrew’s Cheddar, placed in a potato & brown butter bun, topped off with Dill mayonnaise, a smoked egg yolk, iceberg lettuce and green onion paste 👇🏻
💡In May, two-michelin star "Noma" in Copenhagen (also, named the Best Restaurant in the world) replaced its 20-course menu costing £300 with £20 gourmet burgers.
Ok, there are burgers and then there are burgers 😭
💡"Septime" (a one michelin-star in Paris) has come up with 'The Septime Cheeseburger' (shown below).
At 9 euros a bun: You can expect juicy Montbéliard meat from Huguenin, American cheese, iceberg lettuce, and onions.
The Parisian touch? Pickles, and their special mustard grain sauce, gravy and smoked mayonnaise.
Foodies, take note 📝

That's a 15 hour flight + 2 hours of stretching out sore, cramped muscles
Yep, we dk if we're on board with this list 🤷♀️
Meanwhile, previous first-place holder Vienna didn't make it to the top 10 this year as cities in countries like Japan and Switzerland fared best in rankings.
