Quick Bites:
Finance 💰: 25% of Gen Z say they will need a therapist to deal with taxes.
Umm an accountant would be more useful tho
Taxes aren’t enjoyable for anybody, but they can be particularly stressful for younger generations, many of whom may have never filed before, CNBC reports.
💡Government: You owe us money. It's called taxes
💡Us: How much do we owe?
💡Government: You have to figure that out
💡Us: We just pay what we want?
💡Government: Oh, no. We know exactly how much you owe us. But you have to guess that amount too
💡Us: What if we get it wrong?
💡Government: You go to jail
Personally we just don't understand taxes. We fill out these forms and the government builds railroads and public toilets? And if we mess up, we're going to prison? 🤯🤯🤯
In fact, 1 in 4 Gen Z taxpayers said they’ll need a therapist to deal with the stress of tax-filing season, according to a recent Cash App Taxes survey.
Additionally, 54% said filing taxes has either brought them to tears in the past.
Even figuring out which documents you need to file can be anxiety-inducing, with 62% of first-time filers saying they aren’t sure where to get their W-2s or 1099s.
Let us get this straight.. We have to pay taxes on our salaries? Then pay sales tax to spend our own money. Then pay income tax on money that was already taxed. And then pay property tax after we already paid sales tax..?!?!? 😫😫😫😫
“I don’t think children are prepared for it, school doesn’t prepare them for it, and it’s totally understandable”
-A tax manager tells CNBC
💡The world: "You're almost 21, you should have learnt about taxes in high school"
💡Us: First of all, the mitochondria is the powerhouse of the cell
Our Thoughts💡: Tax day is the one day of the year we disappoint the government as much as it disappoints us 👋
Health 👩🍳 : Alternative cooking oils are taking over restaurant kitchens.
Vegetable oil has always been a staple to cook different cuisines, whether that's fried chicken or a bucket of popcorn at the movies.
But, they are often created from indigestible seeds and grains that our body can’t properly digest, Bloomberg Pursuits reports.
When you're in denial about your unhealthy diet:
💡Us: We eat fresh poultry cuts smothered in wheat powder and boiled in olive juice
💡Our Nutritionist: That's fried chicken
Every cook's most dependable, all-purpose kitchen ingredient has taken a massive hit to its reputation.
However, alternative cooking oils are now making their way to eateries and high-end grocery stores to cater to increasingly health-conscious customers.
Edible oils extracted from plants are commonly known as vegetable oils. These include canola, soybean, cottonseed and safflower oil.
Experts claim that consuming too much of these oils via cakes, chips, deep fried fast food and takeout meals, can cause chronic inflammation in the body. There is also evidence linked to heart disease.
Oils like olive oil and avocado oil have come under increased demand due to being healthier alternatives.
Our Thoughts💡: Now that we think about it, vegetable oil is definitely difficult to digest.. 🤔 We've noticed we find it very hard to sleep after getting Chinese for dinner 🥘
When you've both eaten too much Kung Pao Chicken and Hakka Noodles so you skip the foreplay👇🏻
Sports 💧: Gatorade launches new products to remain the top-selling sports drink.
Gatorade has been branching out into new categories, including unflavored water, to keep up with consumers’ changing tastes and tougher competition.
Competitors like Prime Energy and Coca-Cola’s Bodyarmor have put pressure on the company's market share.
The PepsiCo-owned brand, best known for its neon-bright electrolyte drinks like Fierce Grape or Frost Glacier Cherry, is expanding with 'all day hydration'.
Year to date, Gatorade is gaining share in every hydration category as the fight to hydrate consumers ramps up, according to market research firm Circana.
So as it turns out guys, Jell-o shots are in fact, NOT good enough to stay hydrated 🙄🙄🙄
Key Highlights, reported by CNBC:
💡Gatorade owns roughly 64% of the sports-drink market
💡Coca-Cola's Powerade and Bodyarmor are no.2 and no.3 respectively, and share only 25%
💡Among the new products are Gatorade Zero Sugar and Vitamin C & Zinc tablets for immune support,
💡It also launched its first unflavoured alkaline water, which it introduced in February and is “off to a great start", according to the company
The brand is tapping into the growing “functional water” category (water with perceived health benefits) that’s projected to reach $18 billion in sales in the next 2 years.
Guys, what's the obsession with flavoured water? Personally, we find it super disappointing because you smell it and its like HMMM Super Fruity and then you taste it and it's just plain old H20 😬
Our Thoughts💡: Gatorade is launching it's new alkaline water to see if you're a retarded goat they can rip off
The only silver lining: You can now find out which one if your friends buys it and is a complete twat

Brain: No
Bank Account: No
Dad: No
Dog: No
Universe: No
Us: One-way on Air France, s'il vous plait 🇫🇷
According to Bloomberg, the travel industry’s performance in 2023 provided momentum for this year. In 2023, it produced $9.9 trillion globally.
"This isn’t just about breaking records, we’re no longer talking about a recovery- this is a story of the sector back at its best after a difficult few years."

Culture 🌍 : Is April the greenwash-iest month?
It's 10 days into April and the marketing has already begun. With Earth Day just weeks away on April 22, the promotions for "sustainability" by global brands have already ramped up.
However, many companies have come under the radar for false advertising to lure conscious customers.
The concerns are particularly around the "broad or vague" language that implies sustainability.
“People who want to ‘buy green’ should be confident that they aren’t being misled. Eco-friendly and sustainable products can play a role in tackling climate change, but only if they are genuine”
-The Competition and Markets Authority (CMA)
Last year, global fashion brands like ASOS and Boohoo were investigated for misleading green claims. It's not just fashion but also the food sector.
Other examples include:
💡Tesco: whose burger ads got banned for "misleading" claims that it's plant-based burger could help people "do their bit" for the environment
💡Sainsbury: whose ad became controversial when it suggested switching meat for lentils and chickpeas was better for the planet
💡Oatly: leading oat-milk brand backed by celebrity investors like Oprah and Jay-Z, had a marketing campaign banned in the UK, for "overstating" emissions made by the dairy sector
Our Thoughts💡: At a time when shoppers are increasingly aware to find brands that are environment-friendly, no company wants to be accused of #greenwash.
As we witness a surge in "eco-friendly" claims, make sure to find out which businesses are legitimate before spending your money!
