The comet managed to survive the intense heat given it’s close distance from the sun.

A retrograde comet, NeoWise is expected to be visible to the naked eye up until August. “From mid-July on, it’s best viewed as an evening object, rising increasingly higher above the northwestern horizon,” said NASA .

It is the first time a comet will be passing Earth in 6,800 years; a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity, so get a good look while you can.

Comets are also known to be mercurial beasts;
NEOWise won’t stay as bright and visible as the days go by, especially given it’s already speeding away from the sun.
