What’s in store for Luxury Hotels in a post- Covid-19 world?
Ofcourse, we will travel again (someday), but it definitely won’t be the same. Even though many borders have reopened and people are getting over their angst of flying, new health safety protocols and systems will need to be in place once they reach their destination.
So what are some things we can expect from hotels to reassure their loyal, most lucrative guests? A Few things to expect:
The most immediate and perhaps most visible change will be a shift to touchless everything from airport curbside to hotel check-in.
Touchless Elevators– You no longer need to press a button to summon the elevator. Hotels will use voice or hand-movement recognition technology for the elevator to open in front of you. You merely need to utter ‘up’ or ‘down’ or alternatively say ‘Lobby’ or ‘2nd Floor’.
Part of Touchless stays will include incorporating Robots to clean your room to reassure guests that cleaning staff will not be entering their rooms. Robotic Sanitation will be key as these are robots equipped to disinfect high-touch surfaces from door knobs and switchboards to your bedside table.
Fitness is a huge part of hotels with even airport hotels offering a small space for people to unwind and burn up a sweat. That’s definitely over.
Hotels will instead provide in-room fitness with Virtual training sessions on the TVs/ Ipads they provide.
In-room Vending machines besides a fully-stocked mini bar for those midnight cravings. You might not get a Cheeseburger with curly fries but you will get a no-contact delivery of Doritos & Granola Bars on your bed. Plus, no wait time.
