The New Background Check for Big Businesses: "Are you Carbon Neutral?"
Me Too complaints, Anti-Trust, Data Privacy, Playing 18-hole with Trump in Mar-a-Lago.. these are all corporate scandals that have followed big companies (especially the last one.)
With Climate change being a defining issue this year, many companies are pledging to going green after coming under pressure for their harmful environmental practices.
A Few Examples
Big Tech: Apple announced to go fully Carbon Neutral by 2030 last week and Amazon by 2040.
Microsoft gets ambitious and commits to Carbon Negativity by 2030 (meaning it will remove co2 from the atmosphere rather than adding it). Name one thing William Henry Gates III cannot do- & yes, that is Bill's real name.
Other Corporate examples of Climate Neutral pledges include: Google, Dell, Unilever, PepsiCo. & Tesco.
In Travel: American & United Airlines, JetBlue, Heathrow Airport, Hilton Hotels & Hyatt.
We'd get to cars but Elon killing the Clean Crusade with Tesla already.
Countries: Bhutan, a Buddhist kingdom in the Himalayas, is the World's first country to become carbon negative. Sure, it's GDP is less than Apple's Market cap, but doesn't make the feat any less admirable.
The 2nd country so far to achieve neutrality: Suriname (yep, doesn't ring a bell to us either)- a small nation off the coast of South America.
