The Ultimate Ivy League sees 20% deferment rate
And so, the first domino falls- 20% of Harvard university freshmen defer this year. If the highest pedigree of an Ivy loses 20%, what is the forecast for the rest? We wonder what effect this will have

Personally, we're more worried about Wharton. Between the pandemic and graduating our brain-dead President, they have a tough road ahead.
Truth be told, Harvard has both the fat endowment ($40.9 billion as of 2020) to weather it plus enough high school seniors lining to enter those hallowed halls next year.
Also, 80% of that 20% would be legacies that can afford to defer. They're probably spending the year managing their family fund, which given the S&P right now, would be crushing it 10%+ in August itself.
On a serious note, we wonder what this effect will have on college enrolment. Will more high school seniors choose a gap year or will they end up going this fall itself?
