What the f*** Harvard
Name something better you could do with 50 grand than blowing it on Zoom Classes at Harvard.
2010: “I’m so proud, my kid got into Harvard!”
2020: “No way is my kid going to Harvard!”
Yesterday, Harvard University announced all classes will go virtual for the academic year 2020-2021 but undergraduate tuition will still cost $49,653.00 .
Students are left outraged as much, maybe most, value of college is the in-person interactions, not to mention the network a university like Harvard brings together.
This has led to people claiming- Harvard with a $40billion endowment fund (also, the largest in the world) is more of a PE fund with the university business as a side hustle 💰.
With mounting student debt , many are reconsidering their admissions and claiming they could put that 50 grand to better use than on Zoom classes 👨🏻💻 .
Other Ivy league schools like Princeton and Yale have decided to go remote too although Cornell is moving ahead with a fully in-person semester this fall.
This idea of functioning more like a fund and the university tuition is like fees for their fund is insane!
It is a ripoff as it is paying $46+ grand without the psychology of the classroom tuition type experience and its possible impact on ease of learning.
A good IT startup idea built around something that could go viral and possibly get bought for some banging bucks might be my way of spending that $46k? OR floating some cool blockchain project solving 3rd countries and getting to consult with their governments. Safari Africa here I come😋😘
