Quick Bites:
Politics 🇺🇸 : Joe Biden quit the US Presidential race in a shocking move this Sunday.
Jill clinging to the White House curtains bc it's really JOEVER this time.. Also, we dk why anybody of Biden's age would even *want* to be President. We’re 30 and we don't even wanna go upstairs 😴
Meanwhile, Biden has endorsed VP Kamala Harris as the new Democratic nominee.
What he really meant to say in this letter:
Screw all you f**king morons talking shit about my brain health. I'm out ✌🏻
Good luck with the black lady
What happens now?:
💡It is now confirmed that majority of delegates have endorsed her, confirming that Kamala Harris has secured nomination
💡Her campaign announced it raised $81 million in the first 24 hours
💡60% of donors are first time
💡Nearly 30,000 new volunteers signed up, more than 100x daily average sign up
Key Highlights, reported by NBC News:
💡Trump's political team has been preparing to run against Harris for weeks
💡 “As we know in California, she has never been vetted.. Kamala Harris is a product of this whole system. She’s very far left, unvetted and untested.”
💡Thousands of black women join support for Harris
💡Hollywood celebrities like Katy Perry, Cardi B and Barbra Streisand have also expressed their support on social media
Meanwhile, Trump's statements so far on the matter:
💡“So we are forced to spend time and money on fighting Crooked Joe Biden, he polls badly after having a terrible debate, and quits the race. Now we have to start all over again.”
💡“Harris will be easier to defeat"
💡“Everybody around Biden, including his doctors, knew that he was not capable of running for or being President”.
💡"He should never have been President in the first place”
Our Thoughts💡: To everyone American reading this:
Vote for Trump and JD Vance like your life depends on it because it DOES
Sports 👟 : Paris Olympics may bring $12 billion boost to the economy.
The City of Light might look a little different for the upcoming week, as it prepares to host as many as 11 million visitors for the iconic event, Bloomberg reports.
Tight security, police barricades, surveillance, health and safety protocols.. not to mention the crazy traffic jams caused by overexcited tourists 🌍
Personally, we love the Olympics. A few Olympic events we could compete and WIN in:
💡Extreme lurking
💡Instagram stalking
💡Marathon sleeping
💡Freestyle complaining
💡Rhythmic eating
Olympic gymnasts do gravity-defying twists, turns and backflips on a 3-inch-wide balance beam and we have a panic attack when we have to pee while driving 😫
PS. Isn't there something SO fabulous about lounging on a couch with your feet up watching people physically exert themselves harder than they ever have in their entire effing lives.. Ugh WE CAN'T WAIT 😈
Key Highlights, reported by Economic Times:
💡The opening ceremony will be held this Friday on the Seine River in the form of a 4-mile long floating procession
💡While the Eiffel Tower is lit up, athletes will be riding on 160 boats through Paris as the procession ends at Trocadero
💡Over 10,000 athletes from 200 nations will be taking part.
💡8.7 million tickets have already been sold, beating the record from the 1996 Atlanta Olympics
💡'Breakdancing' will debut as an event for the first time this year. The urban dance style was announced as part of the Paris 2024 programme in late 2020
💡Organizers have also included sport climbing, skateboarding and surfing
💡However, karate has not been included in the 2024 Games, despite being featured in Tokyo 2020. Baseball-softball has also been dropped for Paris but will return at Los Angeles 2028.
Umm if they can have breakdancing at the Olympics, we vote for beer pong next 🍻
Our Thoughts💡:
Us watching the Olympics this weekend💡: Hmm we think we can give that a good go
Also us💡: Can't get off the couch without sounding like a distressed gorilla. Spends 3 days taking Aspirin for neck pain after sleeping just once at a slightly different angle. Trips over own feet just walking 👵
Tech 📱: Tinder adds AI tool to pick photos.
Dating app- Tinder, will leverage artificial intelligence to help users select photos for their profiles, as it aims to attract new users after a slump in growth, Tech Crunch reports.
We don't care what tech Tinder rolls out with.. We've deleted all our dating apps and are back to meeting people the old-fashioned way.. i.e 2 years of a sexually tense relationship that turns into cat and mouse games until one of us checks into therapy 🤯
The feature, called 'Photo Selector', uses facial recognition software to curate photos that the technology expects to perform well.
The company says the new feature should assist “making decisions, not make them for you” and is committed to applying AI to "create a safe space for people to make authentic connections"
Competitors like Bumble are also testing new services that users would pay for, after making headlines for laying off hundreds of employees over the past year.
Personally, we're not surprised that dating apps are struggling.
Trying to find love online is like being hungry at your grandma's home and trying to find the least expired thing hoping not to get EXPLOSIVE diarrhoea 🤒
Health 🦠: Covid-19 is spreading again this summer as new variants spread.
This has been worsened by record summer travel and an increase in large gatherings, The Washington Post reports.

Other metrics, such as emergency room bookings and the positivity rate of lab tests, indicate an increase in virus infections.
Infact, President Biden tested positive for the virus last week and is experiencing "mild symptoms," according to a White House statement.
There is no solid date explanation why COVID spreads so rapidly in the summer as well as winter, despite viruses usually being a winter disease.
“I’ve studied the seasonality of the flu for many years, and we have some hypotheses about why it peaks in the wintertime but Covid is hardier than the flu”
-Linsey Marr, a professor at Virginia Tech, who specializes in transmission of pathogens.
Work 💰: Young people are leaning towards a side hustle.
In the US, more than a third of adults now have one, according to a new Bankrate survey.
They're bringing in an extra $891 a month on average, up 10% from just last year. The practice is now "quite a bit more lucrative", CNBC reports.
Key Highlights, reported by CNBC:
💡Gen Zers are the most likely to have a side gig, but millennials earn the most- $1,129 a month on average
💡About 32% of survey respondents feel they'll always need a side gig to make ends meet
💡The most popular side hustles: Furniture assembly, data analytics and pet walking
“I think dog walking or dog sitting or pet sitting is such a popular one because you really don’t need anything except a little credibility"
💡Many people are also turning to resale sites like Poshmark to sell old clothes
💡Many young people are being selective in the side hustles they take on to make sure they’re actually bringing in money
💡 “You saw a lot of people getting taken advantage of in the gig economy and I think they’re just a little bit less gullible now”
-Kathy Kristof, founder of Sidehusl.com
